The significance of theatre in ancient Greek society

The following pro-seminar-paper is about the political role that theatre played in ancient Athenian democracy. Therefore it will examine the feast itself and its process, the important people and their functions to run the event, the actors who were in the centre of attention during the happening and the audience who reflected Athen’s society. It will be shown that every participating group benefited from the festivity in a different way.
