Solidarity with a system. The Role of the "Office of Resettlement Assistance to Optants" in Bolzano for the Integration of Repatriated Optants

Abstract

The following bachelor thesis wants to propose a look inside the organizational structure and to give an overview of the different tasks of the “Office of Resettlement Assistance to Optants” in Bolzano, which was a local, South Tyrolean office of importance when it came to the re-integration of the South Tyrolean optants in the after war period. First, the office will be contextualized in the international network of organizations and offices, that were occupied with the so called “re-option”. Second, the personal resources of the “Office of Resettlement Assistance” are going to be analyzed. Finally, the different tasks of the office are going to be presented by drawing on various historical sources from a regional and national context.
