Abstract

Contraception as a Taboo Subject. Three Case Studies from Vorarlberg (1900–1925)
Drawing on sources from the rural region of Vorarlberg, this paper analyses and contextualises contraceptive practices in the early 20^th century. The paper not only provides an overview of predominant methods, but it also shows that contraception was a multifaceted practice, closely associated with socioeconomic status and often situated in legal grey areas.
