Resumen

The following bachelor thesis highlights and expounds the problems of the usage of history as a political argument. After giving a short summary of the history of the FPÖ I will therefore examine the history policy of the Austrian FPÖ under the leadership of Jörg Haider (* 1950; † 2008) by analyzing the party’s actions during three important events in post war Austria: the Waldheim Affair, the controversial Wehrmachtsausstellung in 1995 (German Army exhibition) and the EU-Sanctions in 2000.
